Study room blinds and curtains in Singapore
A study is usually the smallest bedroom in the flat, with a desk pushed up near the window and a monitor that catches the sun. Study blinds and curtains are mostly about controlling glare on a screen while keeping enough daylight to work by. We supply them made to measure for home offices, children's study corners and spare rooms.
Get a quoteScreen glare and video calls
Glare depends on where the sun sits relative to the screen. A window beside the desk throws reflections across a monitor in the morning or afternoon, and a window behind you turns you into a silhouette on video calls. A window in front of the desk is easier on the eyes for screen work, but you still look straight into the brightness.
Blinds with adjustable slats or bands let you angle or filter light without darkening the room. If calls are frequent and the window sits behind your chair, a dim-out or blackout layer gives more control over how bright the background looks.

Many HDB study rooms have a single window with the desk right under it. A curtain needs space to stack at the side and can get caught on a chair or a monitor arm, while a blind fitted inside the recess stays flat and clear of the desk.
If the window has a ledge you use for books or plants, an outside-mount blind on the frame lets the ledge stay usable. In newer HDB bedrooms with lightweight partition walls, there are limits on drilling near the ceiling, so we check the wall before deciding on wall or ceiling fixing.

When a curtain works better
Common questions
What is the best blind for a home office with a computer?
Venetian or Korean combi blinds, because you can adjust the light rather than only open or close it. That lets you remove glare from the screen and keep the room bright.
Should I put my desk facing the window?
Facing the window or side-on usually causes less screen glare than having the window directly behind the monitor. Pair it with an adjustable blind for the hours when the sun is low.
Do blinds help with noise in a study?
Slightly at most. A heavy lined curtain softens echo in a bare room more than a blind does, but neither blocks traffic noise much.
Can you fit blinds on a ferrolite wall?
We check the wall at the visit. HDB guidance limits drilling near the ceiling on these walls, so a ceiling or frame fixing is sometimes the better option.
