Partition curtains hang from a ceiling track, so the ceiling needs a firm fixing. In concrete ceilings this is straightforward; in false ceilings we fix to the frame above or into a batten. Tracks can run straight, bend around a corner or curve, and we leave room at each end for the curtain to stack neatly when open. Because both sides of a divider are seen, we suggest a fabric that looks the same on the back, or add a lining.
Prices
Partition curtains are priced like our other curtains: from about $45 per metre of track width for sheers, $60 for dim-out and $75 for blackout, installed, for heights up to about 260cm. Can a room divider curtain be installed without drilling?
Light curtains can hang from a tension rod in a narrow opening. Full-height dividers across a room need a ceiling track fixed into the ceiling.
Will a partition curtain block sound?
It softens echo and reduces some noise, especially a heavy lined curtain, but it does not soundproof a space like a wall.
