Eyelet curtains in Singapore
Eyelet curtains have metal rings punched through the top of the fabric, and a rod passes straight through them, giving deep, soft folds that slide easily. They suit rented rooms, studies and windows with solid wall above and no curtain box. We supply eyelet curtains made to measure, sized to your rod.
Get a quoteEyelets need a rod, not a track
There is no track version of an eyelet curtain. The rod sits on brackets fixed to the wall above the window, so you need solid wall there and enough clearance for the brackets. Full-height condo glass, a ceiling-to-floor window or a built-in curtain box usually rules eyelets out.
In newer HDB bedrooms, some walls are lightweight partitions with limits on drilling near the ceiling. We check the wall at the measuring visit before suggesting rod placement.

Fullness and stack
Eyelet curtains are usually made at a lower fullness, often around 1.5x to 2x the rod width. The rings bunch together on the rod when open, and the fabric folds out in front, so the stack is deeper and wider than ripple fold or pleats.
To keep the glass clear when the curtains are open, extend the rod well past the window frame on each side. On a wide window, the centre bracket blocks the rings, so the curtains are best split into two panels that each stop at the middle.

Light gaps and blackout
Because the rod sits on brackets below the ceiling, light comes in above the rings and at the sides. That is fine for a living room or study with sheers or a relaxed curtain, but eyelets are the weakest heading for a dark bedroom. You can reduce the gap by mounting the rod higher and using a wide panel, or add a blackout roller blind behind.

Common questions
Can eyelet curtains go on a ceiling track?
No. Eyelets only work on a rod. If you want a ceiling track, choose a pleated or ripple fold heading.
Are eyelet curtains good for blackout?
They are the weakest heading for blackout because light gets in above the rod. Pair them with a blackout blind if the room must be dark.
How wide should the rod be for eyelet curtains?
Wider than the window, so the bulky stack can sit beside the glass. We measure and suggest an extension at the visit.
Do eyelet curtains use less fabric?
Usually, because they are made at lower fullness than pleats or ripple fold. The curtain calculator shows the difference.
