Curtain cleaning in Singapore
Curtains collect dust, cooking smells and, in Singapore humidity, the odd mould spot near the glass. Curtains SG cleans curtains in your home or takes them away to clean, then rehangs them. Tell us the fabric and the problem and we will suggest the method that suits it.

The right method depends on the fabric, the lining and what needs removing. Many curtains can be handled more than one way, so we will explain the trade-offs when you send photos.
Which method suits your curtains
Start with the care label sewn into the side hem or lining. It tells you whether the fabric and lining can take water, and at what temperature.
Blackout curtains need care because the coating or lining can crack if handled roughly. Linen and some natural fabrics can shrink when washed, which matters on curtains made to an exact drop. Sheers are often the easiest to wash.
If you are not sure, send us a photo of the label and the curtain. We will tell you what we would do and why before anything is taken down.

Common questions
Can curtains be cleaned without taking them down?
Yes. Steam cleaning on site cleans curtains while they hang on the track. It works well for regular freshening, while heavier stains or mould usually need the curtains taken down for dry cleaning or washing.
Can blackout curtains be washed?
Some can and some cannot. It depends on whether the blackout layer is a separate lining or a coating on the fabric, and on the care label. We will check before recommending a method.
Will my curtains shrink?
Natural fabrics such as linen can shrink when washed, which affects the drop on made-to-measure curtains. We choose the method with the fabric in mind and will tell you if there is a risk before cleaning.
How often should curtains be cleaned in Singapore?
Humidity and dust from open windows mean curtains here pick up dirt and smells faster than in drier climates. A light steam or vacuum every few months and a full clean about once or twice a year suits most homes. Rooms near a kitchen, a busy road or a damp window ledge may need it more often.
Is steam cleaning or dry cleaning better for curtains?
Steam cleaning on site is quicker and freshens curtains without taking them down, so it suits regular upkeep. Dry cleaning removes more ingrained dirt and suits lined, blackout and delicate fabrics that should not get wet. Many homes use steam in between and a full clean once in a while.
Is it worth getting curtains professionally cleaned?
For large, lined or blackout curtains it usually is, because they are heavy to wash at home, can shrink or crack if handled wrongly, and need rehanging on the right hooks. Small, washable sheers are often fine to wash yourself; our washing guide explains how.
Do you clean curtains for end of tenancy?
Yes. Tell us the move-out date and send photos of the curtains, and we will plan the cleaning around your handover date.
Do you clean curtains you did not make?
Yes. Tell us the fabric if you know it and send photos, and we will suggest how to clean them.
