Motorised curtains in Singapore
Motorised curtains open and close on a powered track at the press of a remote, a wall switch, a phone app or a timer. They make sense for wide living room windows, tall condo glazing, curtains behind a sofa or bed that are awkward to reach, and anyone who wants the bedroom to open itself in the morning.

How a motorised curtain works
A small motor sits at one end of a ceiling or wall track and drives a belt that pulls the curtain gliders. Most systems can be set to open from the centre or to one side, stop part way and remember a favourite position. Many also have a touch-start feature, so a gentle tug on the curtain starts the motor.
Control options usually include a handheld remote, a wall-mounted switch, a phone app and timers. With a compatible home hub, many motors also work with voice assistants and scenes, such as closing every curtain at sunset.

Power and wiring in HDB flats and condos
Mains-powered motors need a power point near the end of the track, usually in the ceiling or high on the wall. In a new BTO or during renovation, this is easy to plan with your electrician before the false ceiling or curtain box goes in. In an existing home, the point can be added with a neat surface trunking, or you can choose a rechargeable battery motor that needs charging every few months.
We check the wiring position, track length and curtain weight at the home visit, so the motor is sized for the load. Very wide or heavy double-layer curtains may need two motors or a stronger track.

Fabrics and headings that suit motors
Singapore conditions
Humidity does not harm a well-installed motor, but dust and cooking grease can build up on the track over time. A wipe of the track every few months keeps it running quietly. Timers also help with sun: closing a west-facing living room curtain at 2pm protects sofas and floors from fading while you are out.

Price and installation
Curtain motors are $290 to $450 per window, installed, depending on the motor type and control features. The curtain fabric is priced separately by metre of track width: sheers $45 to $60, dim-out $60 to $80, blackout $75 to $100, and day and night sets $110 to $140. A home measuring visit with samples has a $50 deposit, credited to your order. We price match written quotes for the same specification.

Motorised curtains or motorised blinds
Curtains suit wide windows, full-height glazing and rooms where you want soft fabric. Motorised roller blinds are cheaper per window, sit flat inside the recess and suit smaller windows, studies and kitchens. Many homes mix both: motorised curtains in the living room and motorised rollers in the bedrooms.

How much do motorised curtains cost in Singapore?
Our curtain motors are $290 to $450 per window, installed, plus the curtain fabric priced per metre of track width.
Do motorised curtains need a power point?
Mains motors need a power point near the track. A rechargeable battery motor avoids wiring but needs charging every few months.
Can I add a motor to my existing curtains?

Can motorised curtains work with voice control?
Many motors work with an app and, with a compatible home hub, with voice assistants and timers.
