Pinch pleat curtains in Singapore
Pinch pleat curtains have fabric gathered into sewn pleats at regular intervals along the top, with flat sections between them. They give a tailored, classic look and hang from hooks on a standard track or rings on a rod. We supply triple and double pinch pleat curtains made to measure for bedrooms, dining rooms and formal living rooms.
Get a quoteTriple pleat and double pleat
A triple pinch pleat folds three bunches of fabric into each pleat, for a fuller, more formal look. A double pleat uses two, which looks a little lighter and more modern and uses slightly less fabric. In Singapore listings, the two are often grouped together because they use the same hooks and hardware.
Typical fullness for pinch pleat sits around 2x to 2.5x the track width. Double pleat is often made towards the lower end.

Works with the track you already have
Pinch pleat curtains use hooks that clip into gliders on an ordinary aluminium track, or hook into rings on a rod. If your existing track is in good condition, we can often make new curtains for it without changing the hardware. That makes pinch pleat a simple swap for resale flats and older condos.
On a ceiling track, the pleated top sits flat and close to the ceiling. That limits the line of light over the top better than a ripple fold wave.

Rooms that suit pinch pleat
Stack and space
Because the pleats stay firm at the top, a pinch pleat stack is a little wider than ripple fold at the same fullness. Allow some track beyond the window on each side so the stacked curtain clears the glass. On a narrow window beside a wall, a single panel drawing to one side may suit better than a pair.

Common questions
What is the difference between pinch pleat and double pleat?
Pinch pleat usually means three folds per pleat. Double pleat has two, looks slightly lighter and uses a little less fabric. Both hang on the same hardware.
Can pinch pleat curtains go on a rod?
Yes, using rings with a hook in each ring. Tell us before sewing, because the drop is measured from the ring rather than the ceiling.
Are pinch pleat curtains old-fashioned?
Triple pleats look classic. Double pleat in a plain fabric looks clean in modern rooms too.
Is pinch pleat good for blackout?
Yes. On a ceiling track or inside a curtain box, the flat pleated top sits close to the ceiling and lets less light over the top.
