Modern curtains and blinds
A modern room in Singapore tends to have hard edges: black-framed windows, a feature wall, a low TV console and maybe a condo balcony behind glass sliding doors. Window coverings in that room need to look precise. That usually means straight folds, darker solid colours, hardware hidden in the ceiling and blinds that sit flush inside the window frame. Curtains SG plans and fits these for HDB flats, condos, landed homes and offices, including motorised tracks and outdoor zip blinds.

Modern curtains drop straight from ceiling to floor with no valance, tieback or decorative finial. A ripple fold heading gives regular, architectural folds and stacks tightly when open, so more of the glass stays clear. Plain fabrics with a matte or subtle woven texture suit this better than sheen or pattern.
Blinds follow the same rule. Mounted inside the window reveal, a roller or venetian blind disappears into the frame when raised. Where several windows sit side by side, we line up head rails and drop heights so the wall looks ordered.

Darker tones and blackout
Charcoal, slate, graphite, deep navy and warm taupe give contrast against white walls and light flooring. Dark curtains also make a bedroom or media room feel enclosed at night, which pairs well with blackout fabric.
There are trade-offs. On a west-facing window, a dark fabric absorbs afternoon heat and can fade along the edges after years of sun. A lining helps with both. If you want a dark curtain without a dark room by day, add a light sheer on a second track.
Recessed tracks and motorisation
Hidden tracks look best when the decision is made before the false ceiling goes up. If your renovation is still at the drawing stage, send us the plans or ask your ID to contact us so the pocket is deep enough for a double track.
Recessed ceiling trackA pocket in the false ceiling hides the track, so the curtain appears to come straight out of the ceiling. It has to be planned during renovation with your ID or contractor.Learn more →
Motorised curtain tracksA motor in the track opens and closes the curtain by remote, wall switch, app or schedule. Handy on wide condo windows where pulling a heavy curtain by hand is tiring.Learn more →
Smart home controlSome motors link to home automation systems and voice assistants. Tell us what system you use and we will check compatibility before ordering.Learn more →
Planning for powerWired motors need a power point near the track. Rechargeable motors avoid new wiring but need charging from time to time.Blinds that suit a modern room
Take blind colours from the window frame rather than the walls. Black frames suit black or dark grey slats and rails, while white frames suit white.
Aluminium venetian blindsSlim slats in black, white, grey or metallic finishes. They tilt for fine light control and cope with moisture, which suits kitchens, bathrooms and study rooms.Learn more →
Roller blindsOne flat panel that rolls into a slim head. Screen fabric for glare, blackout for bedrooms.Learn more →
Outdoor zip blinds for balconiesThe fabric edges run in zipped side channels, so the blind stays in place in wind and cuts sun and rain on a condo balcony. Check your MCST rules on balcony screens before you order.Learn more →
Vertical blindsVertical vanes suit wide sliding doors and office glazing, and stack to one side for access.Learn more →Mixing curtains and blinds in one flat
A modern flat rarely uses one product everywhere. A common plan is ripple fold curtains in the living room, a blackout roller blind with a dark curtain in the master bedroom, aluminium venetians in the kitchen and a zip blind on the balcony. Keeping colours in one family, for example charcoal fabric with black or dark grey blind rails, makes the different products look like a set.

Common questions
Do dark curtains make a room hotter?
Dark fabric absorbs more heat on the window side, so on a west-facing window the curtain itself gets warm. A light-coloured lining or a blind behind it reduces this. In north or east-facing rooms the difference is small.
Can I add a recessed track after my renovation is done?
A true recess needs a pocket built into the false ceiling, which is easiest during renovation. Afterwards, a slim ceiling-mounted track or a pelmet box gives a similar clean line without hacking the ceiling.
Are outdoor zip blinds allowed on condo balconies?
It depends on your MCST. Many condos have rules on balcony screens and colours, so check with management first. We can give you product details to submit if they ask.
Aluminium or wood venetian blinds for a modern kitchen?
Aluminium handles moisture and grease better and comes in crisp black and white. Wood looks warmer but can warp near steam, so faux wood is the safer choice if you want that look in a kitchen.
Do motorised curtains need new wiring?
Wired motors need a power point near the track. If that is hard to add, a rechargeable motor runs without new wiring. We will look at your ceiling and walls at the measuring visit.
