Faux wood venetian blinds in Singapore
Faux wood venetian blinds look like wooden blinds but use slats of PVC or a composite material. They tilt and lift in the same way, but do not take up water, so they keep their shape in steamy rooms where real wood would warp. They are sometimes simply called PVC blinds.

How faux wood copes with Singapore conditions
PVC and composite slats are waterproof, so they handle humidity, steam and occasional splashes without swelling or growing mould inside the slat. That makes them the wood-look choice for bathrooms, kitchens and windows that may catch rain.
Heat is the main limit. Faux wood slats are heavier and can soften or sag slightly if a very wide blind sits in strong, direct sun for years. On a wide west-facing window, splitting the window into narrower blinds and choosing a lighter colour helps. Sun can also yellow a bright white slat over time, so off-white tones age more evenly.

Options to choose
Measuring and installation
Faux wood is heavier than real wood and much heavier than aluminium, so we keep each blind to a size that lifts comfortably and does not sag. On wide HDB windows, that usually means two or three blinds side by side. When raised, the slats form a deep stack at the top, so we check that it clears the window opening and any handles.
Faux wood venetian blinds are quoted after measuring, since the price depends on the slat, the finish and how the window is split. A home measuring visit with samples has a $50 deposit, credited to your order, and we price match written quotes for the same specification.

Care
Dust weekly with a cloth or vacuum brush. Faux wood can be wiped with warm soapy water, which makes it easy to keep clean in a kitchen. Dry the slats after wiping so water marks do not form.

Faux wood, real wood or aluminium
Real wood is lighter and has a natural grain, but suits only dry rooms. Aluminium is the lightest and slimmest venetian, with a more practical look. Faux wood sits between them: the look of wood, the moisture resistance of aluminium, and more weight than either.

Common questions
Are faux wood blinds waterproof?
The slats do not take up water, so they suit bathrooms and kitchens. Dry them after splashes to avoid water marks.
Do faux wood blinds sag?
Very wide blinds in strong sun can sag over time. Splitting a wide window into narrower blinds avoids this.
How much do faux wood blinds cost?
They are quoted after measuring, since price depends on the slat, finish and number of blinds.
Is faux wood heavier than real wood?
Yes. Faux wood slats are denser, so each blind is kept to a comfortable lifting size.
