Grey curtains in Singapore
Grey curtains are a safe and flexible choice for Singapore homes. They hide dust better than white, fade less obviously than dark colours and suit the grey tiles, white walls and black fittings found in many HDB and condo units. Light grey curtains in particular give a calm, modern look without the starkness of pure white.
Get a quoteWarm and cool greys in our light
Singapore daylight is bright and fairly white for much of the day, with warmer light in the late afternoon. Cool greys with a blue base look crisp at noon but can feel cold in a north-facing room. Warm greys with a beige base (sometimes called greige) hold up well in all light and feel softer in the evening under warm bulbs.
Mid and dark greys absorb more heat than light grey, so on a west-facing window a light grey or a lined curtain is more comfortable.

From outside the block
Light grey looks neat from the corridor and blends with most facades. Charcoal curtains are fine with a pale lining facing out. Grey also hides the grime from window ledges and corridor dust better than white, which many owners of low-floor units appreciate.

With grey homogeneous tiles, choose a curtain a shade lighter or darker than the tile rather than trying to match it exactly, since near-misses look like mistakes. With white walls, almost any grey works, but warm greys look friendlier. With vinyl wood floors, warm greys and greige connect better with the wood than blue greys do.

Grey fabric options
Sheer and night curtain combinations
The most common grey setup we fit is a white or light grey sheer on the front track with a mid grey dim-out behind it for evenings. For a bedroom, swap the dim-out for charcoal blackout. Two greys in different weights look layered and deliberate, while a white sheer with a charcoal night curtain gives more contrast for a modern room.

Care
Grey is forgiving. It hides light dust and does not show yellowing the way white does. Darker greys can show lint, and all greys can fade a little on a sunny window, so a lining helps on west-facing glass. Wash cold and hang to dry.

How to choose the right grey
Hold samples against your window glass in the morning and the late afternoon, and lay one next to your floor tile. Look for the undertone: if a grey looks blue next to your walls, try a warmer one. We bring samples to your home at the measuring visit ($50 deposit, credited to your order).

Common questions
Are light grey curtains a good choice for a small room?
Yes. Light grey keeps a room bright and feels calmer than white. Pair it with a white or pale grey sheer for daytime.
Should grey curtains match grey floor tiles?
Aim for a shade clearly lighter or darker than the tile. Exact matches rarely look right because fabric and tile reflect light differently.
Do grey curtains fade?
Grey fades less noticeably than strong colours, but dark greys on a sunny window can lighten over time. A lining helps.
